The David Oyedepo Foundation scholarship programme is now available for new applicants.

The foundation is now accepting new registrations for the 2022 academic session. Candidates who are interested should read this article carefully to the end to see how to apply.

The David Oyedepo Foundation scholarship programme is also called the DOF scholarship programme. It is one of the biggest scholarship programmes in Africa.

Who is David Oyedepo?

David Oyedepo is the founder of Winners Chapel Nigeria, one of the biggest churches in the world with an estimated 6 million members worldwide. He is also the founder of Covenant University and Landmark University.

Covenant University is one of Nigeria’s prestigious universities.

Apart from his ministerial duties, David Oyedepo is known for his philanthropy activities to majorly African communities.

About the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship

The David Oyedepo Foundation scholarship is an annual full-ride scholarship for undergraduates from African nations.

The scholarship programme enables successful applicants to gain admission into either Covenant or Landmark University to study any course of their choosing for a maximum of 5 years.

The David Oyedepo Foundation will cover the student’s full school fee during the study year. 

The scholarship does not cover other expenses like;

1. Travel allowances.
2. Medical or health insurance allowance.
3. Feeding allowances.
4. Other fees outside of the school fees.

List of Courses Available for DOF Scholarship

During the registration process, candidates will choose the university and course they want to study.

Candidates who choose Covenant University can pick any of the courses below;

1. Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
2. Information and Communication Engineering.
3. Applied Biology and Biotechnology.
4. Microbiology.
5. International Relations.
6. Psychology/Counselling.
7. Computer Engineering.
8. Economics.
9. Accounting.
10. Architecture.

While candidates who choose Landmark University will have the following courses to choose from;

1. Animal Science.
2. Crop Science.
3. Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering.
4. Microbiology.
5. Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
6. International Relations.

Requirements for the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme.

1. The applicant must be an African.
2. The applicant must have applied for an undergraduate programme at either covenant university or landmark university.
3. Must be eligible to receive a Nigerian student visa (Non-Nigerians only)
4. Must be between the ages of 16-25 at the time of application.
5. Applicants must be able to speak and write the English Language fluently.
6. Must have at least 20 marks above the JAMB cut-off marks for Universities in Nigeria (This is only applicable to Nigerian applicants). 
7. At least an 80% recorded average or 4.0/5.0 in secondary school (high school) transcripts.

Please note that applicants must first apply for Covenant University or Landmark University before applying for this scholarship programme.

After applying for the stated University, you can then go ahead with the scholarship application. The scholarship application is completely free but registrations for Covenant or Landmark University undergraduate programmes are not free of charge.

How to Apply for the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Programme

First of all, make a choice on the course and school you want to study at. You can choose from the list of courses available above.

Visit the respective university website to apply for an undergraduate programme.

Register for Covenant University at: admportal.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/

Register for Landmark University at: https://admission.lmu.edu.ng/app/

Before applying, make sure to click on the international student tab if you are not a citizen of Nigeria.

After completing the registration, visit the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship portal to commence the scholarship registration.

You can visit the DOF portal by using this link here.

You will need to enter your personal information, educational information, parents and guardian information and religious recommendation details.

Note that you can pause and continue the application later on. However, you must complete and submit the online form before the deadline.

When you are done with filling, you will need to upload the following documents;

1. A passport photograph.
2. Letter of reference from school head.
3. Reference letter from a religious leader.
4. Secondary school/High school transcript.
5. Upload a 500-word essay about your passion for your country.
6. Upload a 500-word essay about your leadership experience in the past 3 years.
7. Write and upload an essay on why you need the scholarship (500 words).
8. Write and upload an essay on why you want a career in your chosen course.

The essays must be written by the applicant without assistance from a third party.

All the essays must be in 500 words and must be converted to PDF format before uploading. 

The other documents should be scanned with a proper scanner and uploaded to the website. Do not scan with a mobile phone.

The deadline for this scholarship is July 31st, 2022. All submissions must be completed before the deadline.

Further interviews will be scheduled with qualified applicants. The interviews will be conducted through skype. During the registration, applicants are to provide their Skype ID.

David Oyedepo Foundation does not interfere with the admission process at Covenant University or Landmark University.

Applying for the scholarship programme does not guarantee that your application to Covenant or Landmark University will be successful.

Applicants will have to be admitted first to the participating Universities before they can be considered for the scholarship.
