York University Undergraduate Leadership Scholarship for Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS)
With this scholarship programme, the university hopes to recognize exceptional and hardworking students who need financial assistance to study at the faculty of Liberal arts and professional studies.
Applicants who are awarded this scholarship will get the following;
- Eligible candidates with a GPA between 90% to 94.9% will get $2,000 each while candidates with a GPA of 95% and above will get $3,000 each.
- Scholarship valued at $10,000 per year. To keep receiving this award in subsequent years, students have to maintain a high academic standing.
This scholarship programme is granted to 50 applicants each year.
Scholarship Requirements

- Secondary school applicants are eligible but must apply within two years of graduating. Candidates that have a Polytechnic or University experience cannot apply.
- Must be an international student.
- Candidates must apply for an undergraduate programme at the faculty of Liberal arts and professional studies. Applications for the undergraduate programme must be submitted on or before February 14.
- A minimum academic standing of B+ average grade.
- Community service, art, sport or other individual achievement is required.
- A letter of recommendation from your secondary school teacher or principal is required.
- Applicants from English-speaking countries like Nigeria and Ghana do not need an English proficiency test.

How to Apply
Read the preceding instructions carefully so that you do not make any mistakes.
Step 1: Check the Admission Requirements for your Course
You must meet the admission requirement for the course you want to study at York University. The school accepts WAEC and NECO results from West Africa.

If you meet the requirement, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Visit the York University Undergraduate Application Page
The York University undergraduate application page contains the application forms for the university’s undergraduate programmes.
Read the instructions and get further information using the appropriate links on the page.
Step 3: Fill out the Application Form
Once you are satisfied with all the information you’ve gotten so far, you can fill out the application form. Note that this application form is different from the scholarship form.
Also note that, during the application, you will be required to pay the sum of $130 via a visa or, master card. The application fee is not refundable.

Make sure you upload the requested documents before the deadline. Your secondary school transcript for subjects done in SS2 and SS3 will be required.

Step 4: Apply for the Scholarship Programme
Fill out the required details on the scholarship form and submit it.
