UNILAG Post UTME Form Eligibility
You have written the JAMB UTME exam and want to be admitted to the prestigious University of Lagos. This part of the article contains all the things you need to be eligible to apply.
Continue reading to see all the requirements.
1. UNILAG Must Be Your First Choice
Only candidates who made UNILAG their first choice in the 2023/2024 UTME exam are allowed to apply for the UNILAG Post UTME form.
The University of Lagos is a competitive school; hence the school does not allow candidates that chose it as a second option to purchase its Post-UTME form.
If you chose UNILAG as your second, third or fourth choice, you should go to a JAMB CBT centre to purchase a JAMB change of institution form and make UNILAG your first choice.
2. UNILAG JAMB Cut-Off Mark
The University of Lagos does not accept candidates who scored below 200 in the JAMB UTME exam to purchase its Post UTME form.
To increase your chances of getting admission, a high JAMB score plays an important role.
Candidates who scored below 200 in JAMB are advised to purchase a JAMB change of institution form and change to Universities that accept candidates with a score below 200 or a Polytechnic. You can change your institution to Yaba College of Technology if you scored 150 and above.
3. Correct Subject Combination
Every school has its subject combinations. Some schools have different combinations for certain courses.
You should check if your JAMB subject combination and O’level subjects tally with the University’s requirements. Click here to see UNILAG O’level subject combinations.
4. Upload O’level on JAMB CAPS
The school has stated that only candidates who have uploaded their O’level results to the JAMB CAPS portal on or before the 13th of August, 2023 will be considered for admission.
This means candidates writing the WAEC GCE and NECO examinations will not be able to purchase the form. Candidates who sat for the WAEC SSCE exam will be considered for admission if their results are released on time.
Note: It takes approximately 45 days for the West African Examination Council to release results. WAEC SSCE candidates should expect their results by August 7.
If you have your results already, you should read our post on how to confirm if your O’level result is on JAMB CAPS.
5. Age Requirement
Candidates who will not be up to 16 years by the 31st of October, 2023, are not eligible and should not apply for the UNILAG Post UTME screening form.Â
If you are not up to 16 and you go ahead to apply, you may be offered admission if you meet the other requirements, but you will be screened out during the screening process.
In summary, you can purchase the UNILAG Post UTME form when it is available if only you meet the requirements below;
- Choose UNILAG as your first choice in UTME.
- Scored up to 200 and above in UTME.
- Have an SSCE result with at least credit in Mathematics, English language and any other three subjects found on the UNILAG combination for your course.
- Wrote the correct UTME subject combination for your course of study.
- Must be 16 years of age or above by the 31st of October 2023.
If a candidate does not meet all the above criteria, that candidate will be disqualified.
