Does LASUSTECH Have a Part-time Programme?
As you may already know, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) was formerly known as Lagos State Polytechnic. LASPOTECH was converted fully into a University of technology in 2022.
After converting from LASPOTECH (polytechnic) to LASUSTECH (university), the school suspended its part-time programme.
LASUSTECH needs approval from relevant educational bodies in Nigeria before it can commence part-time programmes as a University.
LASUSTECH Part-time Courses
When LASUSTECH eventually gets the approval to run part-time programmes, not all courses will be available.
We have compiled a list of courses that will most likely be available in the LASUSTECH part-time programme;
- Computer Science.
- Mass Communication Science and Technology.
- Accounting
- Agricultural Economics and farm management.
- Banking and Finance.
- Marketing.
- Office Technology and Management.
- Business administration.
As you can see from the list above, there are no Engineering courses.
Universities in Nigeria are not licensed to offer some courses in their part-time programmes; engineering and architecture is a few of those courses.
If you are interested in studying an Engineering course through the part-time programme, you could consider the YABATECH part-time programme.

When will LASUSTECH Commence its Part-time Programme?
We are not sure of when LASUSTECH will be licensed to run part-time programmes. We guess by 2025 but do not take our word for it. The school has not made any announcements concerning this.
As we said earlier, you should consider part-time programmes at other schools.
If you must study at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology, then you must apply for the LASUSTECH full-time programme.
Will the LASUSTECH Part-time Programme Require JAMB?
When the LASUSTECH part-time form goes on sale, candidates must purchase the JAMB part-time form. Note that the JAMB part-time form is different from the JAMB UTME form.
Part-time candidates who purchase the JAMB part-time form will not sit for any exam with JAMB.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board of Nigeria have made it compulsory for candidates applying for part-time programmes to purchase the JAMB part-time form. This enables the candidate to get an NYSC exemption letter upon graduation.
