LASUSTECH Cut-Off Mark 2023/2024
Are you looking for the LASUSTECH cut-off mark for the 2023/2024 academic session?
The LASUSTECH cut-off mark is the minimum mark 100-level applicants need to score to qualify for admission into the Lagos State University of Science and Technology.
In this article, you will learn about the types of LASUSTECH cut-off marks and what you can do to score as high as possible.
Types of LASUSTECH Cut-off Mark
When it comes to gaining admission into LASUSTECH, there are two types of cut-off marks; the LASUSTECH JAMB UTME cut-off mark and the LASUSTECH Post-UTME cut-off mark.
The LASUSTECH JAMB UTME cut-off mark is the mark you need to score in the JAMB UTME exam to be able to purchase the LASUSTECH Post-UTME form.
If you do not score up to this mark, you won’t be able to purchase the Post-UTME form.
The LASUSTECH Post-UTME cut-off mark is the minimum mark you need to score after calculating your aggregate score.
LASUSTECH JAMB UTME Cut-off Mark
The LASUSTECH JAMB UTME cut-off mark for the previous academic session was 180.
The school management has not announced a cut-off mark for the current academic session but we are quite certain that it won’t change.
If you scored within 160 marks and above, you will be able to purchase the LASUSTECH Post-UTME form if the cut-off mark remains the same.
However, if you scored below 150, you can apply for either the YABATECH Part-time programme, LASU part-time programme or the UNILAG Part-time programme instead.
In part-time programmes, applicants do not need JAMB and admission is 98% guaranteed if done with the correct Olevel subject combination.
LASUSTECH Post-UTME Cut-off Marks for Each Course
The Lagos State University of Science and Technology does not conduct written or computer-based exams for candidates applying to the college. However, they use a grading system to calculate the candidate’s UTME scores and O-level subject grades.
You can read our article on how LASUSTECH calculates aggregate scores here.
After the sales of the Post UTME form, candidates applying for each course must meet a minimum score to be considered for admission.
Unfortunately, LASUSTECH does not release this score to the public. Only the staffs in charge of admission are aware of these marks.
All the LASUSTECH departmental cut-off marks you saw online are fake.
What we are certain about is that LASUSTECH has three different cut-off marks for each course.
There is a cut-off mark for candidates from Lagos State, a different mark for candidates from the LASUSTECH catchment areas and another mark for candidates that are not from the catchment areas.
Candidates not from Lagos State or the catchment areas must score higher than their counterparts to be admitted.
What’s the next thing to do?
The first thing you need to do is to calculate your aggregate score using the LASUSTECH formula.
After knowing your aggregate score, you need to take important decisions fast.
If you are not from Lagos State or the LASUSTECH catchment area and your aggregate score is below 60, you may need to change to a less competitive course or change to a different school.
If you are in this category and your aggregate score is above 60, keep your fingers crossed, you may be considered for admission.
This does not mean that candidates from Lagos or from the LASUSTECH catchment areas can get admitted with any score.
Here’s an example to make you understand better.
Assume that your uncle (from your mother’s side, they are the nicest) works at the LASUSTECH admission office. Knowing that you applied for business administration at LASUSTECH, he shows you the cut-off mark and tells you not to show anyone.
When you see the cut-off mark, it may look like the figures below
Business administration:
Lagos State: 56
Ogun and Oyo: 60
Other states: 63
As you can see, the difference in marks is not really much.
