What is LASU Indigeneship Verification (LASU IIVE)
The LASU Indigeneship verification exercise (LASU IIVE) is a process done to verify candidates applying for Lagos State University who are indigenes of Lagos State.
According to the Lagos State University catchment policy, 70% of admitted students should come from Lagos State while 30% can come from other states of Nigeria.
LASU IIVE helps the university to identify applicants who are indigenes of the state.
Note that being verified as an indigene does not guarantee admission into Lagos State University, as other factors must be considered.
For example, if you want to apply for the LASU undergraduate programme, you must also consider your JAMB score and O’level grades.
Eligibility
Only candidates who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for the LASU indigene verification exercise;

You are not an indigene of Lagos if your father is not a Lagosian by origin. It does not matter how long you or your parents have lived in the state.
At the time of writing this article, there is a bill at the national assembly that enables a Nigerian to become an indigene of another state if they have lived in that state for a period of at least 5 years. This bill has not been passed yet.
2. Undergraduate Applicant
Only candidates who want to gain admission into the 100 or 200-level undergraduate programme of Lagos State University are eligible to apply.
Therefore, if you chose LASU as your first choice of institution while applying for the last JAMB UTME exam or JAMB direct entry form, you can apply provided you meet the other requirements.

The JAMB UTME cut-off mark for LASU in the 2023/2024 admission is 195. Post-UTME candidates who do not meet the cut-off mark are not eligible to apply.
