About Julius Berger
Julius Berger is the largest civil engineering and building construction company in Nigeria. It is well patronised by the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This German company was established in Nigeria in partnership with Bilfinger Berger owning 49% shares while two Nigerian state governments own a combined share of 51%.
The company’s first job in Nigeria was the construction of the Eko bridge in August 1965. Julius Berger was consulted and involved in the planning of Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.

This scholarship is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to fostering growth and skill development within Nigeria’s Education and Human Capital development sector.
The Julius Berger Nigeria Scholarship programme is open to female engineering students studying at Public Universities across the country.
Applicants who win this scholarship will get financial aid until they complete their studies at the University.
Scholarship Requirement
Read the requirements for this scholarship carefully before applying. Only candidates that meet the requirements will be eligible to be awarded.
Applicants must;
- Be female.
- Be a citizen of Nigeria.
- Be currently studying at a public university in Nigeria (Federal or State).
- Be in 200 level at the University.
- Have a CGPA of at least 3.5 in a 5-grade system.
- Be and Full-time student.
- Be studying any of the following courses; Architecture, Building and Construction Engineering, Building Engineering, Building Technology, Cartography, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Land Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Material, Metallurgy, Production Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Structural engineering.
How to Apply
After meeting the requirements, you can apply for the Julius Berger Nigeria scholarship by following the steps below;
Step 1: Register for an Account on Scholastica
The Julius Berger scholarship programme is hosted on Scholastica. Visit the Scholastica account creation page and create an account with your name, email address and phone number.
Once you sign up on the website, a link will be sent to your email address. Log in to your email and click on the link to verify your account.
Step 2: Fill in your details on Scholastica
Log in to your Scholastica account using your email address and the password you just created.
After you have logged in, click on My Account > Profile.
Fill in your information in the appropriate fields and click on the update button at the bottom of the page.
Use the tabs on the left to navigate to different sections and submit your information.
Step 3: Upload your Passport Photograph and Other Supporting Documents
You must upload a passport photograph with a white background. Other documents that need to be uploaded are;
- University or JAMB admission letter.
- JAMB UTME original result.
- School ID card.
- WAEC or NECO result/certificate.
- Valid Identity card (You can upload your NIN slip).
Step 4: Apply for the Julius Berger Scholarship
After uploading these documents, visit the Julius Berger Scholarship application page and click on Apply now to submit your application. You will not be able to submit if you do not complete the previous steps.
Step 5: Download and Sign your Profile
Visit candidate.scholastica.ng to download your profile. Your downloaded profile contains your information and the details of the scholarship you applied for.
Take the downloaded profile to the Head of Department in your University to sign for you.
Step 6: Upload your Signed Profile
Scan the signed copy of your profile and upload it to Scholastica.
Once you are done applying for the scholarship, check your email frequently for further communication about the Julius Berger Nigeria scholarship programme.
Note that a CBT exam will be conducted. This CBT exam must be done on a computer with webcam features.
You can apply for this scholarship once in the given year. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification by the scholarship organization.
Deadline for the Scholarship
Applications for the Julius Berger Scholarship scheme should be submitted on or before October 9, 2023.
