JAMB UTME Registration Guide: Step by Step Guide for 2020 UTME
JAMB registration for the 2020/2021 academic session has commenced. We are here to guide you on how to go about the JAMB registration without issues.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB will commence sales of 2020/2021 UTME forms from January 13 to February 17, 2020.
In this article, you will learn how to register for the JAMB 2020 form without stress. Although, you cannot complete the registration all by yourself; You will need the services of CBT centres.

Note that JAMB has suspended the use of National Identification number for JAMB registration until the next JAMB in 2021.
JAMB Registration Process for 2020/2021
There are three steps to JAMB Registration for the 2020 JAMB form;
- Create a Profile code.
- Purchase a JAMB E-pin.
- Registering at the CBT centre.
Here are four steps to guide you on the JAMB registration for 2020/2021 academic session.
Step 1: Check the right Subject Combination
To avoid any error, check the SSCE and JAMB combination of the course you want to apply for. A wrong subject combination can ruin your chances of getting admission.
If you notice that you do not have the right subject combination for the course you want to apply for, register for an SSCE/GCE exam and use awaiting result while registering for the JAMB UTME exam at a CBT centre.
Step 2: Create a Profile Code
The JAMB profile code is a unique code given to every UTME/DE candidate. You need this code to purchase your UTME e-Pin.
To get your JAMB profile code, simply text your name in this format; Surname, First name and Middle-name to 55019. E.g Oladapo James Adedeji to 55019.
You will get a confirmation message containing your profile code and other information.
Your name arrangement should be uniform in all your certificates.
Step 3: Purchase UTME Pin
The official price for JAMB UTME E-pin is 3,500 Naira. However, when you purchase the JAMB E-pin from third party vendors online, a convenience fee will be charged.
You can purchase the UTME Epin online through Remita, Quickteller or from a bank branch.
For a stress-free registration, you should purchase your JAMB E-pin
Here is how to buy JAMB ePin online via Remita;
Visit the JAMB Remita page to access all JAMB services, select “Sale of JAMB/UTME registration” forms from the drop-down menu.
Enter the phone number used while registering for JAMB E-Facility profile. Fill in the confirmation code received in step 2 and fill the other forms appropriately.
Tick the “I’m not a robot box” and click on submit. You will be directed to a page where you can enter your debit card details.
If you don’t really understand this step, just go to a Bank with your JAMB confirmation code and 3,500 Naira to purchase the JAMB E-pin.
Step 4: Go to CBT Centre for Registration
Finally, visit any JAMB CBT centre around you to complete your JAMB registration.
Go to the CBT centre with your O’level result, JAMB profile code from step 2, JAMB E-pin from step 3 and a passport photograph.
The JAMB CBT centre will charge you 700 Naira for JAMB registration. 700 Naira is the fixed price by JAMB.
Please note that while you are being attended to at the CBT centre, ensure that your details are filled in correctly as making any changes in the future will cost you time and more money.
In conclusion
After the registration, you will be given a JAMB photocard. You are to come along with it to the examination hall.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board is yet to announce a date for the UTME exam. You should start preparing for the exams immediately.
