JAMB Cut-off Mark for Tertiary Institutions – 2017/2018

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the cut-off marks for the 2017/2018 admission process. The JAMB cut-off mark is the lowest that has ever been seen in the country.

The minimum cut-off mark for Universities was set at 120, Polytechnics and Colleges of Educations were set at 100 while innovative enterprising institutes were set at 110.

However, Mr. Ishaq Oloyede; JAMB registrar announced that institutions were at liberty to raise their cut-off marks.

Mr. Ishaq also announced that JAMB will be introducing the “Central Admission Processing System (CAPS)”. He stated that CAPS will streamline the admission process among institutions.

Speaking on illegal admissions, he said that will no longer be possible as JAMB will have to confirm all candidates.

As you already know, JAMB has lifted the ban on post-utme; the minister said that banning of post-utme was a mistake as it allowed so many irregularities in the education system. He further announced that the price of post-utme forms should not exceed 2,000 Naira.
