How to Get a JAMB Registration Number for Part-time, Sandwich or NOUN Programmes
Are you looking for how to get a JAMB registration number for part-time, sandwich or NOUN programmes?
The Joint admission and matriculation board, JAMB, has made it compulsory for candidates applying for admission into Part-time, Sandwich and National open university programmes to have a JAMB registration number before they can be offered admission.
In this article, you will learn how to apply for the JAMB registration number for Part-time, Sandwich and NOUN programmes.
Please note that applicants in these categories are not required to write a qualification exam with JAMB.
Also note that you must register even if you applied for the JAMB UTME exam in the current year or a previous year.
Why is JAMB Registration Compulsory?
JAMB is responsible for screening candidates who are applying to tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Before now, candidates applying for Part time, Sandwich or NOUN programmes only need to walk up to their choice of institution and pick up an application form.
By the time such student graduates, their names are not available with JAMB or any relevant educational body apart from the school where they finished from.
It is more like completely bypassing JAMB to get admission.
JAMB wants to put an end to this.
Henceforth, candidates of part-time, NOUN or Sandwich programmes are required to get a JAMB registration number but do not need to write an entrance exam with JAMB.
The whole process is to have every candidate’s details in the Joint admissions and matriculation boards database.
