How to Check NECO Result
Follow the instructions below to check your NECO result online.
Step 1: Purchase the Result Checker Token
If you do not have the NECO result checker token, you need to purchase it before you can check your result. Read our article on how to purchase a NECO result token.
Immediately after you have purchased the result checker token, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Visit the NECO Result Checker Website
The official website where you can check your NECO result is results.neco.gov.ng. Click the link to access the page.
Step 3: Enter your Exam Details and Token Details
Select the year you wrote the exam from the list of options. Also, select the exam type you did. For NECO SSCE exams, select NECO internal, for NECO GCE exams, select NECO external.
Junior secondary and Primary school candidates should select BECE and NCEE respectively.
Type your token details in the space provided and enter your NECO registration number. Click on the check result button when you are done.
Your NECO result will appear on the screen.
Step 4: Save your NECO Result
There is a limited number of times you can check your NECO result, so we recommend that you save your result as a PDF file.
Once your result appears in step 3, click on print on your smartphone. A pop-up will appear asking you for the format you want to save the document in. Select “save as pdf” and save it on your phone.
After saving it on your phone, you should also upload it on Google Drive so you can always recover it if you misplace your phone.
Important Notice
A NECO result token can be used to check a NECO result five times. Once the token usage limit is exhausted, you won’t be able to check your result with another token. To avoid paying an extra fee in the future if you misplace a copy of your result, it is better to save your result in a cloud storage like Google Drive or have multiple printed copies.
How to Check NECO Result without Token/Scratch Card
If you do not want to purchase a token to check your NECO result, you have to wait for a while and then visit the secondary school where you wrote the exam to request your statement of result. The statement of result contains your grades for each subject in the NECO exam.
It is recommended that you purchase the NECO result token to check your result immediately it is released as the tokens cost less than 1,000 Naira. Checking your results on time helps you plan if you will be considering writing another exam.
